This year’s NAIDOC theme is ‘Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future’, and the SBS Learn resources provide teachers extensive material, case studies and lesson ideas to explore these theme confidently.

2019 NAIDOC Week starts on Sunday 7 July and finishes on Sunday 14 July. These dates are during the school holidays around Australia, so it is important to plan to program these activities prior to NAIDOC Week, while also encouraging students to participate during the school holidays.

The resources are available for Primary and Secondary years and link to subjects including:

  • Primary: English, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education
  • Secondary: English, History, Geography, Visual Arts, Drama

The resources hope to engage students and help provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in classrooms in the lead up to and beyond NAIDOC Week 2019.
