“Constellation” is the name of my artwork. Constellation is about how the stories about constellations have connected people throughout all time and wherever in the world. An Aboriginal woman is portrayed as mother nature with blue sky hair and a night sky background which represents the different skies humanity sees. “Constellation” relates to reconciliation because the emu constellation has many different stories attached to it that were passed down through generations which is shown and celebrated in the artwork.   The artwork relates to the theme because it portrays the day and night sky with the Earth under it because Earth is under one sky which connects us all together.

Reconciliation means…

Restoring relationships between Non-Indigenous Australians and Indigenous communities. It means that we have to acknowledge the colonisation of Australia and also to celebrate and learn about Indigenous culture, history and traditions.
