My artwork is about the significance of Aboriginal Elders and their connection to Country. The image of the anonymous elder represents all elders within our Country. It reflects the pride, patience and connection to Country. The Elder represents all tribes and as the gate keepers of the land. For they are the ones that hold the keys: they are the custodians of knowledge and lore and have the permission to disclose cultural knowledge and beliefs that can pass down their traditions and knowledge so that we can all learn to Care for Country. In my artwork I have used the idea of Dreamtime on one side and then it moves into our world today with the traffic symbols of the ‘white man’ and the journey through words of reconciliation as we pass through this world together.

Reconciliation means …coming together in peace and harmony.
