My favourite animal of all time is the Australian salt water crocodile. Just like the salty, us humans need both the sea and rivers to get food, drink, live and participate in leisure activities (but not around salt water crocodiles). I tried to represent a river towards the back of the crocodile with trees and grasses where the croc can hide to catch its prey, and the front of the painting to represent the sea where the crocodile also hunts, swims and lives. We as people should be caring for both the sea and our river systems so we can always see my favourite animal.

Reconciliation means…

Like the saltwater crocodile, reconciliation to me means we need to learn to live with people and respect differences to adapt, grow in this continual journey of understanding and learning.
