My artwork is about the place where I live and my school friends I see at school each day. We are the future and
we hope by learning about our local cultural heritage and Indigenous communities past, present and the future that we will continue our respect for the land and the original people because there will never be anything like it again. Aboriginal culture respects the land and everything has a story to tell and we should listen. One of our school values is “We Matter”, and young people do matter because we are the future. Each of my friends that are depicted in my art, work hard to improve their learning and knowledge about reconciliation. We hope to continue to learn about stories and reconciliation and continue to be guided by our community connection.

Reconciliation means… To continue to learn and pay our respects to the Elders of our land. The Elders past and present worked and continue to work tirelessly to make more positive changes and future Elders and community workers will continue to educate people about what matters.
