Grace Wren

My artwork is my voice expressing how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are like a strong tree, joined together at the base then growing and branching out in many different ways over time. Their voices are spreading ideas and knowledge in many ways so we can all respect and appreciate their culture, history and contribution to Australia and the world. The tree in my picture is also like a hand, part of a person but also symbolising how we can all help one another to make a better future.

Reconciliation means… We all work together to understand one another better and to learn about and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their history and culture. Everyone has a voice and should be listened to because mistakes were made in the past and we want a future where everyone is respected, valued and treated as equal.
