Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School

My artwork shows that we are all equal and connected with each other. No matter what ethnicity we are all under one sky. The artwork’s meaning is to recognise the cultures that exist in Australia, hence the same sky we live under. We need to appreciate this and it is a way of saying thank you. We are also fighting for equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This artwork relates to this year’s theme by taking the theme literally and creating a beautiful meaning of the sky which connects to each other.

Reconciliation means…

To appreciate and acknowledge the past, present and future. To gain trust and strengthen our relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and Non-Indigenous people. We need to learn from them and their fascinating cultures respectfully.
