Matraville Soldiers’ Settlement Public School

This artwork is about respecting Mother Earth. The artwork includes a koala being provided food, a kangaroo being provided water and fishes being provided a home by Mother Earth. In the sky, the students wrote quotes to state how Mother Earth looks after them too. Mother Earth also holds the song lines which has been around since the Dreaming. Mother Earth plays an important role for us all. She looks after all people and animals. She provides us with a home, food, water and medicine. Mother Earth is sacred, nurturing and strong.

Reconciliation means …working together to become a better country as a whole.  Reconciliation starts with listening. To be able to learn and understand, people must first listen. Reconciliation means learning from the past and healing the future.
