My artwork is about the night sky and the red dirt forming around the sun as the Aboriginal flag for the background. It relates to reconciliation by the gumtree representing the Aboriginal people because their spirits are connected to the land and relates to Caring for Country by the gumtree surviving through all that has happened.

My artwork is about how this land will ALWAYS be Aboriginal land, I made some mountains and the sun showing the Aboriginal flag. It relates to reconciliation as it shows that Aboriginals were the first people on this land and they have made it what it is today. The artwork relates to the theme Caring for Country as it shows how the Aboriginal people kept this land healthy and stable.

Reconciliation means …working together with all races while making peace. Reconciliation to me is that Aboriginal people, Torres Strait Islanders and non-Aboriginal people connect with each other’s cultures and create peace.
