Why do the Ngarrindjeri people do a dance for the river? (It calls in ancestors to put the spirit back into the land and heal the water)
What is the Coorong? (Where the River Meets the Sea)
What do the Ngarrindjeri people call the Murray? (Moorindee)
Why do we need to protect the Moorindee/Murray? What has Tyrone’s grandfather seen change in the river? (The river colour has changed, it isn’t clear anymore. Fish and birds are dying. River and lakes are dying.)
Many of these resources and activities have been developed in consultation with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to ensure that the program meets NSW curriculum outcomes for Stages 3, 4 & 5.
What we do
Reconciliation NSW aims to create a reconciled, just and equitable community for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. We work to inform, support and inspire people to engage in reconciliation.
